Case Study
Mr.C owns a property in Italy valued at £1 million and wishes to buy a property in Portugal for £2.2 million.
Requires £2.2 million borrowings using both properties as security. Plus has other assets including UK properties totalling £2 million in value and with investments of £750,000.
A loan of £1.6 million (50% LTV) is arranged using the two European properties as security (borrowings in Sterling or Euros) with the additional £600,000 secured against one of the UK properties. All deposits/investments remain as these can be used for the serviceability of the overall loan.
